HANBURY DAVIES ANNOUNCED ‘SUPPLIER OF THE MONTH’
BY HOMEBASE
Homebase has awarded Hanbury Davies Limited ‘Supplier of the Month’ status for September 2007. Jill Jenkins, who headed up the traffic team responsible for this accolade at Hanbury Davies’ Felixstowe depot, was also personally selected to receive Homebase’s Service Excellence Award.
The awards were given for the ‘Christmas Stock Programme’, which saw Hanbury Davies undertaking 730 drops comprising Christmas trees and decorations, collected from the ports of Felixstowe, Tilbury, Thamesport, Southampton and Teesport and delivered to 315 Homebase stores throughout the UK. The container deliveries took place within a three week period, during which time Hanbury Davies achieved a service level of 98.9%.
Hanbury Davies’ General Manager, Kevin Smith, commented “We are delighted with the news and we are now in talks with Homebase, via our customer Kuehne & Nagel, about further projects for next year.”
Tim Standen, General Manager of Direct Imports for Homebase said. “Hanbury Davies became an extension of our business during the life-cycle of this high profile project. The pro-activity and problem solving capability shown by the Hanbury Davies team was a key factor in the overall success and has inspired our business to investigate other opportunities to run similar type schemes. As a valued supply chain partner, we will be working closely with Hanbury Davies for their feedback so we can achieve even greater successes going forward.”
